Jill Van Auken Akins, AIA established Van Auken Akins Architects, LLC in May 1992 with a vision to design inspiring environments while providing exceptional communication and service to clients in both the public and private sectors. What began as a single employee firm committed to providing outstanding service to clients, now operates with a staff of 24 team members, with design projects exceeding $5 billion in construction value.
Our portfolio of experience includes a combination of new construction, renovation, rehabilitation, and interior improvements for clients across a variety of market sectors, including commercial, education, healthcare, hospitality, industrial, institutional, public and retail. VAA is unique in that we have been involved in projects with varying aspects and project roles. We have served in the role of lead architect, construction manager, and consultant on projects using various delivery methods such as CM-at-Risk, Design-Build, and General Contracting. Our clients and partner firms look to VAA for our experience and understanding of the interconnection between the design and construction process.
